We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of engineers building core parts of our product. You will coach and develop your reports, drive predictable delivery, and partner with product on strategy while keeping the team's technical bar high. Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers through regular one-on-ones
- Run performance reviews, career development, and growth plans for each report
- Own hiring for the team, from sourcing to interviews and onboarding
- Drive sprint planning, prioritization, and predictable delivery of roadmap work
- Partner with product and design to shape strategy and scope trade-offs
- Uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and architecture
- Remove blockers and shield the team from unnecessary distractions
- Track team health, velocity, and delivery metrics to guide improvements
- Facilitate technical decisions and postmortems without micromanaging
- Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders and leadership
Requirements
- 5 or more years in software engineering, including 2 or more managing engineers
- A track record of shipping complex software with a team
- Experience hiring, coaching, and developing engineers through their careers
- Strong grasp of software architecture and modern development practices
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
